Vocal Process Best Practice Update day
A Vocal Process special event with Dr Gillyanne Kayes and Jeremy Fisher
At the AOTOS Annual Conference last year, members asked Gillyanne to teach a practical session on topics raised in her Keynote Speech.
We're pleased to announce that on July 7th at The Studio, Birmingham you can join us on a Best Practice Update day. This is a rare opportunity to brainstorm for a day with Vocal Process on best practice in singing teaching, practical vocal techniques and voice science/pedagogy updates.
Breath use - how to change breath flow and resistance to work for the sounds you want
Modal voice - how it relates to 'chest voice', how to use safely higher in the range WITHOUT belting
Falsetto - why it isn't breathy by default, why it's a register, different falsetto 'mixes' used in classical and contemporary styles
Onsets and offsets - more than the big three (glottal aspirate smooth)!
How note approaches can change your vocal style
Resonance & vowels - how to use vowel colouring to change vocal set-up; working the vowels to suit each student
